The International Congress of Notaries, a meeting of General Council of the International Union of Notaries (UINL), as well as the General Meeting of Member Chambers of Notaries were held in Marrakech city (Morocco).
A meeting of the General Council of the International Union of Notaries (UINL) and General Meeting of Member Chambers of Notaries took place on 1-3 October, 2010; and the International Congress of Notaries took place on 3-6 October, 2010. The Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries was represented by the president of the Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries, Marius Stračkaitis, and the member of the Presidium, Svajone Saltauskiene.
Five states – Bosnia-Herzegovina, Korea, Mauritania, Tunisia, and Mauritius – were officially declared at the General Meeting of Member Chambers of Notaries as new members of the Union, as their notaries meet the criteria of Latin Notaries.
A French notary from Marseille, Jean-Paul Decorps, was elected as a new president of UINL for the term of three years. The member of the Presidium of the Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries, the notary of Vilnius city, Asta Kieliene, was appointed as a member of the General Council of UINL for the second term of three years.
