Lithuanian notaries have elected new president
New president of Lithuanian Notaries Chambers from now is notary Marius Strackaitis. This was voted by all the notaries of Lithuania during the general meeting, which took place last Saturday. President Marius Strackaitis is elected for three years to represent all Lithuanian notaries. Notary Daiva Lukaseviciute, president by now, has become vice-president of Lithuanian Notaries Chambers.
Notary of the first Klaipeda Notary Office Marius Strackaitis has been working as a notary since 1999; he is a member of Lithuanian Notaries Chambers’ presidium since year 2002. During last several years public notaries entrusted him with the position of vice-president of Lithuanian Notaries Chambers. Marius Strackaitis is particularly interested in international activity of Latin notarial system; he is a representative of Lithuanian notaries in the International Notarial System Commission (UINL) of European Affairs.
35 year old new president of Lithuanian Notaries Chambers also engages himself in pedagogic activity – for more that ten years he has been lecturing law disciplines, writes scientific articles, and actively takes part in Lithuanian and International seminars and conferences of law.
Thereafter Lithuanian structure of notary chambers presidium is also different. Notary of Vilnius city 29th Notary Office Svajone Saltauskiene and notary of Vilnius 17th Notary Office Asta Kieliene will further represent notaries of Vilnius district, notaries of Kaunas district will be represented by newly elected notary of Kaunas district Rasa Ona Inokaitiene, notaries of Klaipeda district – by notary of 7th Notary Office Jurga Prizgintiene, notaries of Siauliai district – by notary of 4th Notary Office Rima Sadauskiene and notaries of Panevezys district – by notary of Panevezys city 5th Notary Office Vita Jankovskaja.
Presidium of Lithuanian Notaries Chambers is a collegiate management organ of Notaries Chambers, which is composed of eight members. All public notaries elect them for every 3 years.
On the 1st of December, in year 1992, Notarial system law came into force, which consolidated Latin Notarial system in Lithuania. In the Notarial system law it was indicated, that all Lithuanian notaries would consolidate into Notaries Chambers. Lithuanian Notaries Chambers coordinate work of notaries, take care of notary juridical culture and qualification rising, uniform notarial practice, inform society about the functions, accomplished by notaries, frame the projects of regulations, associated with Notarial system and provide Ministry of Justice with them. Notary chambers cooperate with Lithuanian, foreign states and international organizations.
