Twentieth Annual meeting of Baltic Council of Notaries takes place in Riga
The Twentieth Annual meeting of Baltic Council of Notaries took place in Riga on September 15-16, followed by an international conference dedicated to notarial issues.
These events have been attended by numerous delegation from Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries.
At the round table meeting of Baltic Trilateral Council the representatives of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania have exchanged presentations on legal and notarial developments and innovations in their countries.
The Council meeting was folowed by an International conference "Transactions with immovable property – problems and solutions. Ex-ante assessment of potential draft laws", arranged by the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia and the Council of Sworn Notaries Public of the Republic of Latvia. The conference was dedicated to the goal of presenting and analysing the Latvian model on the one hand and the Estonian, Lithuanian and German models on the other, discussing problems and solutions for the closure and registration of transactions with immovable property in Latvia and performing an ex-ante assessment of potential draft laws.
The President of Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries Marius Stračkaitis delivered a report on new notarial functions and legal innovations in Lithuania.
The Baltic Trilateral Council was established on June 15, 1996 in Jurmala, Latvia, where representatives of Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian notariates signed co-operation agreements. The sessions of Trilateral Council take place annualy, by turns in each Baltic Country.
