Notaries chamber will cooperate with HEC during coming municipalities’ elections
Today, Vice-president of Lithuanian Notaries Chamber Marius Stračkaitis and the chairperson of the Head Elections Committee (HEC) Zenonas Vaigauskas signed the agreement on supplying HEC with information about incapable persons. Incapable persons are the persons who cannot realize their own actions and their consequences. The person can be admitted incapable only by court. According to procedures which came into force three years ago, courts must supply Notaries Chamber with information on the persons admitted incapable. Lithuanian Notaries Chamber independently administer the database which collects information on the citizens of the Republic of Lithuania admitted incapable by courts who have no right to conclude various contracts and transactions in notarial form, as well as participate in elections. This information is necessary for HEC for crossing the citizens admitted incapable by courts out of electors’ lists for municipalities’ councils’ elections which will take place on February 25. “Having thought over HEC request to provide this list, we have decided that the information we have could be useful for successful organization of elections. We also coordinate this step with the State Data Protection Inspectorate, - said M.Stračkaitis. – Notaries Chamber will provide this information benevolently now and in future”. Notaries’ Chamber database currently has 4500 registered incapable persons.
