Lithuanian property registering system ranks 3 in the world, Doing Business survey says
The current system of property registering is one of the best in the world, the annual "Doing Business" survey by the World Bank says.
According to the survey, registering property system ranks 3rd. The score for registering property is 92,94 out of 100. Time for registering is 3,5 days, and the cost of the procedure reaches 0,8 per cent of property value.
"Notary has a key role in the process of registering property. For several years already notaries conduct all formalities of real estate transactions, including the process of registering by means of electronic system. This principle of "single window" provides the speed and effectiveness that brings our state to the Top 3", said Marius Stračkaitis, the president of Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries.
