LITHUANIA PRESENTS PROGRESS ON REMOTE NOTARIAL TRANSACTIONS TO CENTRAL ASIAN COLLEAGUES
Remote online notarial deeds in Lithuania have already become common practice and create additional opportunities to improve customer services, says Marius Stračkaitis, president of the Chamber of Notaries of Lithuania.
On June 22, in Nur Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan, he participated in the 2nd international conference of notaries of Central Asia "Modern challenges and development of notary in a new reality".
In his report, Mr. Stračkaitis presented the procedure valid from July 1, 2021 in Lithuania, when notarial actions can be performed remotely, using the eNotaras electronic system created by the initiative and with the funds of the Chamber of Notaries of Lithuania.
Approximately 4,000 remote notarial actions have already been performed during the year, among which most common are confirmation of powers of attorney, mortgage and pledge agreements, real estate transfer agreements, share transfer transactions, acceptance of inheritance and issuance of inheritance rights certificates.
At the conference, notaries of other European Union countries - Germany, France, Croatia - and delegates of notaries of Central Asian countries presented the development of their countries' notaries. During his visit to Kazakhstan, M. Stračkaitis also participated in a conference organized by the International Notary Union and the Kazakh Republican Chamber of Notaries on the subject of executive inscriptions issued by a notary.
