Latvian Notariat commemorated its 20th Anniversary

On September 20th, 2013, a delegation of the Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries attended a series of events, held in Riga, to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the Latvian Notariat.
The event was attended by the president of the Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries, administrator of Klaipeda City 1st Notary Office, the notary Marius Stračkaitis, vice-president Daiva Lukaseviciute-Binkuliene, presidium members - Svajone Saltauskiene, Virginija Pupkiene, Daiva Verpetinskiene, Rasa Inokaitiene, Jurga Prizgintiene, and Dainius Palaima.
Representatives of the Council of the Notariats of the European Union (CNUE), the International Union of Notaries (UINL), Estonian, German and Russian Notariats gathered to congratulate their colleagues in Riga.
M. Stračkaitis read his report at an international conference, held in the Parliament of Latvia, presenting a reform on mortgage and lien, which came into force in July of 2012; its beneficial influence on the state, society, and business. The conference “Ex-post Impact Assessment of the Parliament Decisions” was organized in joint attempts of the Parliament of the Republic of Latvia and the Latvian Council of Sworn Notaries.
During the conference, referring to the examples of reforms implemented in the Notariats of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania, discussions were held over ex-post assessment of parliamentary decisions from a perspective of time. The conference was also attended by the members of the Committee on Legal Affairs of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Stasys Sedbaras and Vitalijus Gailius.
