International Union of Notaries acknowledge Belarus' and Kazakhstan's notariates' aspirations for full membership
The International Union of Notaries (UINL) has acknowledged the aspirations of notariates from Belarus and Kazakhstan to become full members of the Union, the President of Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries Marius Stračkaitis said upon return from UINL meetings in Republic of Côte d'Ivoire.
The sessions of UINL General Council and UINL International Commission on Notarial Co-operation (CCNI) took place in the city of Abidjan on May 9-12, 2018.
Marius Stračkaitis is a member of CCNI, responsible for liaison with notariates undergoing reforms in the sovereign countries formerly part of Soviet Union.
CCNI members have discussed the situation in aspiring UINL members, such as Belarus, Kazakhstan, Iran and Lebanon. The Commission has approved the accession of Lebanon as full member of UINL and decided to recommend the further approval to General Council of UINL. The next real candidates for accession are notarial organizations of Belarus and Kazakhstan, which underwent a series of notarial reforms implementing principles of Latin notariat in the past years.
M. Stračkaitis also attended the session of UINL General Council.
