Adam Toth, President of the Hungarian Chamber of Notaries, who chaired the Council of the Notariats of the European Union (CNUE) in 2021, concluded this Council Presidency with a visit to Vilnius.
The delegation of Hungarian notaries met Marius Stračkaitis, President of the Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries, and officials of the Chamber. During the conversation, much attention was paid to the novelty of the Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries, i.e., remote certification of notarial acts via eNotaras, electronic system of the Chamber of Notaries which was legitimated in July 2021. As well, representatives of the Hungarian and Lithuanian chambers of notaries addressed topical issues and cooperation among notaries throughout Europe, the expansion of expertise of notaries, the relationship between civil law and legal norms of the European Union. The Council of the Notariats of the European Union is chaired by a representative from a different EU Member State, who has tenure renewable for one year. Gianpaolo Marcoz, Italian Notary, will succeed Adam Toth, President of the Hungarian Chamber of Notaries, and take office as President of the CNUE for the year 2022.
