Congress of the International Union of Latin Notaries took place in Peru

The president of Lithuanian Notary Chamber, administrator of the first notary bureau of Klaipeda notary Marius Strackaitis took part in events of the International Union of Latin Notaries (UINL) held in the capital of Peru Lima on 8-9 October. Reporting information was listened to on the meeting of the General Council of the organization, of which Lithuania forms a part since 1994, and the assembly of member notariats regarding activities of a president, a vice-president, commissions and working groups of the organization, and conclusions on topics “Mediation, Conciliation, and Arbitration” and “Ageing of Society and Its Influence of Notary Activities” were presented. At these meetings discussions were held regarding the current condition of notaries and a possibility to soften conditions of joining of new notariats to activities of the International Union of Latin Notaries and the decision was made on acceptance of Vietnam, Kosovo and Ukraine to UINL with full member status. A new president, a vice-president and a chairman of the commission were elected for a three-year period (2014-2016) by representatives of all 83 UINL member notariats in Lima.
